Common Aspect Ratios Explained
- 1:1 (Square) —Instagram posts, profile pictures, app icons. The most universally useful crop.
- 4:3 —Standard photo ratio, presentations (4:3 slides), older TVs and monitors.
- 16:9 —YouTube thumbnails, video covers, desktop wallpapers, widescreen displays.
- 3:2 — a common photo ratio, also matching a 4 × 6 inch print when rotated.

Why Lossless PNG Output?
The crop is rendered to Canvas and encoded as PNG, avoiding an additional lossy encoding step. It does not preserve original bytes or all metadata, and pixel rounding or color handling can change the result. For a smaller copy, try Compress Image or convert a copy to JPG.
