What color formats does the picker output?+

Can I extract colors from an image?+
Yes. Upload an image and use the eyedropper to sample any pixel directly. The picker also extracts the dominant palette automatically, which is handy for matching designs to existing photography.
How do I build a color palette?+
Pick a base color, then save it to the palette panel. Repeat for each color you want to capture. The full palette can be copied as CSS variables or exported for use elsewhere.
What is the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?+
HEX is the compact six-character format used most often in CSS. RGB describes the same color as three numbers from zero to two hundred fifty-five. HSL uses hue, saturation and lightness, which is more intuitive when you want to adjust a color subtly.
Is the tool free for commercial use?+
Yes. The colors you create are not subject to any license. Use them in personal, commercial or client projects without attribution or restriction.
