Is my API key saved anywhere?
No. Your API key is held only in memory and never written to localStorage or any storage. The moment you close or refresh the page, it's gone.
Which providers are supported?
Use DeepSeek, OpenAI or a compatible service with the Base URL, model and API key specified by that provider. The endpoint must support requests from your browser. Check current pricing and quotas with the provider; ToolKnit does not promise free API credits.
What kind of stories can I play?
Anything! Describe any concept — survival, mystery, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, historical, slice of life. The AI adapts to your concept and choices.
How long does a game last?
Choose a limit of 20, 50 or 100 turns before starting. The model may end the story earlier. Each new turn can make another provider request, so longer sessions can cost more.
