What is a 3x3 grid split?

A 3x3 grid split divides the full image into nine regions without dropping edge pixels. When a dimension is not divisible by three, neighboring tiles differ by at most one pixel.

Does splitting reduce image quality?

Tiles keep their full calculated pixel dimensions and are exported as PNG. Canvas export removes embedded metadata, and animated files are rejected so frames are not silently lost.

Can I use non-square images?

Yes. Non-square images are split proportionally into rectangular tiles. For an Instagram profile mosaic, crop the source to a square first; dimensions not divisible by three may still leave a one-pixel difference.
